Uebert Angel made claims about children, salvation, and holiness that deserve careful biblical examination.
There are times when Christian leaders make statements that sound authoritative, but we must always test every teaching against Scripture.
The Apostle Paul commended the Bereans because they examined the Scriptures daily to see whether what they were being taught was true (Acts 17:11).
Uebert Angel made claims about children, salvation, and holiness that deserve careful biblical examination.

Who Is Uebert Angel and What Did He Teach?
Uebert Angel (born Uebert Mudzanire on 6 September 1978) is a British-Zimbabwean businessman, evangelical preacher, and religious leader. He is best known as the founder of Spirit Embassy, a Pentecostal Christian ministry based in the United Kingdom.
Uebert Angel's Claim: Evil Parents Produce Evil Children
Uebert Angel stated:
"The Bible actually tells us that if the parents do not worship God and they are evil, then their children will also be evil."
At first glance, this may sound biblical. After all, children can certainly be influenced by their parents.
However, influence is not the same as guilt.
The Bible clearly teaches individual responsibility before God.

Do Evil Parents Produce Evil Children? (Biblical Response)
What Does Ezekiel 18 Say About Personal Responsibility?
"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father..." (Ezekiel 18:20)
God does not condemn a child because of a parent's sin.
Neither does He justify a child because of a parent's righteousness.
Each individual stands accountable before God for their own sin.
Throughout Ezekiel 18, God repeatedly rejects the idea that children are punished for their parents' wrongdoing. Instead, He emphasises personal responsibility.
God judges individuals, not family bloodlines.
Are Babies Condemned if Parents Are Not Holy?
Uebert Angel's Claim: Unsaved Babies Go to Hell
Angel further argued that because nothing unclean can enter heaven, even a newborn child may be excluded from heaven if the parents are not holy.
He reportedly suggested this could apply to:
This is a serious claim.

What Did Jesus Say About Little Children?
Jesus Welcomed Little Children
The Lord Jesus said:
"Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19:14)
Notice Christ's attitude toward children.
He did not push them away.
He did not treat them as enemies of God.
He welcomed them.
Jesus consistently demonstrated compassion, tenderness, and acceptance towards little children.

While this passage is not a detailed theological explanation of infant salvation, it certainly does not support the idea that babies are condemned because their parents are spiritually unclean.
What Does “Holy” Mean in 1 Corinthians 7:14?
Set apart vs saved distinction
One of the passages often used in this discussion is 1 Corinthians 7:14.
"For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy."
Paul writes that the unbelieving spouse is sanctified through the believing spouse and that the children are holy.
Some interpret this to mean that children are automatically saved because of a believing parent.
Others claim the opposite—that children are condemned because of unbelieving parents.
Neither conclusion fits the text.
What Does "Holy" Mean Here?
Paul is speaking about the special influence and set-apart position that exists within a household where a believer is present.
He is not teaching automatic salvation.
Consider the logic.
If "holy" means "saved" for the children, then consistency would require us to say the unbelieving spouse is also saved through marriage.
Yet Scripture repeatedly teaches that salvation comes through personal faith and repentance.
Every person must personally trust in Christ.
Therefore, 1 Corinthians 7:14 cannot be teaching automatic salvation.
It refers to a household being set apart under the influence and blessing of a believer.

God Is a Just Judge
The foundation of this discussion is the character of God.
Abraham asked:
"Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?" (Genesis 18:25)
The answer is yes.
Always.
God never acts unjustly.
Does God Condemn Infants for Sins They Did Not Commit?
The claim that babies are condemned because of their parents' spiritual condition raises serious questions about God's justice.
Scripture consistently presents God as perfectly righteous and fair in all His judgments.
No one will ever be able to accuse God of wrongdoing.
Whatever God does is right.
Whatever God decides is just.
The Bible never presents God as arbitrarily condemning infants because their parents failed to meet a spiritual standard.
Beware of Emotional Manipulation
One concerning aspect of Angel's statement was:
"I know you don't want to hear this because you love that child of yours."
This type of statement can place enormous emotional pressure on parents.
Rather than allowing Scripture to speak for itself, it suggests that disagreement comes from emotion rather than biblical conviction.
But Christians should not accept or reject teachings based on emotions.
We should examine them based on God's Word.
The question is not:
"How does this make me feel?"
The question is:
"What does Scripture actually teach?"
Can a Child Be Condemned Through a Parent's Spiritual Condition?
Angel argues that if a child can receive blessings through a mother's prayers, then a child can also be condemned through her spiritual condition.
This sounds logical on the surface.
However, Scripture makes an important distinction.
God Often Blesses People Through the Faith of Others
We see this repeatedly in the Bible.
The Paralytic and His Friends
Jesus healed the paralytic when He saw the faith of those who brought him.
"When Jesus saw their faith..." (Mark 2:5)
The Centurion's Servant
The servant received healing because of the centurion's faith.
Matthew 8:5–13
In both cases, one person's faith brought blessing to another.
But Salvation Is Personal
While God may bless people through the faith, prayers, and actions of others, salvation itself remains personal.
No one is saved by another person's faith.
No one is condemned by another person's unbelief.
Each individual must personally respond to God.
What Is God’s Common Grace?
The Bible teaches that God shows kindness even to those who do not know Him.
Jesus said: "He makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:45)
This is often called God's common grace.
God gives:
to believers and unbelievers alike.
However, receiving blessings from God does not automatically mean someone is saved.
Likewise, receiving kindness through another person's faith does not mean salvation is transferred from one person to another.
Salvation remains a personal work between God and the individual.
Final Biblical Conclusion on Uebert Angel’s Claims
The Bible teaches:
✅ Children are not punished for their parents' sins (Ezekiel 18:20).
✅ Jesus warmly welcomed little children (Matthew 19:14).
✅ 1 Corinthians 7:14 speaks of a believing influence within the home, not automatic salvation.
✅ God is perfectly just in all His judgments (Genesis 18:25).
✅ People may receive blessings through the faith of others, but salvation itself is personal.
When evaluating any preacher's claims—including those of Uebert Angel—we must return to the authority of Scripture.
God's Word, not human opinion, is the final standard for truth.
Test every teaching. Hold fast to what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
