How the “Ways of God” ministry got its name — a simple verse, Psalm 103:7, and a surprising journey of divine guidance that unfolded over decades.
Ever had a moment where something from decades ago suddenly snaps into place like it was always part of the plan?
That’s exactly what happened with the name Ways of God.
And honestly, I still find it a bit wild (in a good way — not “I’ve had too much coffee” wild).
Let’s rewind.
A Verse That Wouldn’t Leave Me Alone

It all started shortly after I became a Christian.
I was doing what every new believer does — reading everything I could get my hands on. Books, notes, sermons… you name it.
Somewhere in all of that, (I think a Corrie Ten Boom book) I came across Psalm 103:7 (NKJV): “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”
Now here’s the strange part.
I didn’t study it deeply at the time. I didn’t even fully understand it. But it just stuck. Properly stuck. Like gorilla glue on a fresh pair of trainers (you know the kind — no coming back from that).
That verse sat quietly in the background of my life for years. Decades, even.
Just… waiting.
I had no idea it was doing anything important at all.
Then one day it all made sense.
The Phrase That Stood Out: “The Ways of God”
Around the year 2000, I came across the ministry of Bishop Michael Reid.
I never properly met him at that stage — just a brief “hello” moment in a church car park. Not exactly earth-shattering. Or so I thought.

But things started to shift in 2009 when I met him properly, one-to-one, in his living room.
And let me tell you, that was one of those meetings you don’t forget easily. (I’ll save that story for another time — it deserves its own cup of coffee and probably a biscuit or two.)
As I began attending his house meetings, travelling regularly from Bedford to Brentwood, something stood out.
Among many things, actually. He kept using a phrase I’d never really heard used in church circles like that: “the ways of God.”
And something in me just went, “Hang on… that’s familiar.”

My spiritual ears (if you like) definitely perked up. It wasn’t dramatic — no flashing lights or angelic trumpets — just a quiet inner recognition. One of those moments where you don’t have all the answers, but you know God is weaving something together.
It became one of several confirmations that I was exactly where I needed to be, learning what I needed to learn.
A Decision to Step Back and Wait: At this time I made a decision that I would not preach until he went home to be with the Lord. I had to learn the ways of God. Whatever the cost.

When Scripture, Experience, and Timing Align
Fast forward again to 2023.
By this point, I hadn’t been preaching for years. Not really. I had made a personal decision to step back until Bishop Michael Reid went home to be with the Lord. Looking back, I probably had a few “Lord, are we there yet?” moments in prayer (we’ve all been there).
Then came the news in 2023 — he had passed away. I had waited fourteen years.

That same morning, before I even knew, I woke from a dream with a simple phrase ringing in my mind: “Never forget what you have learnt.”
At the time, I didn’t fully connect it.
But later that day, when I heard he had gone home to be with the Lord, it all clicked into place. That unmistakable sense of divine guidance. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just clear.
How I Named My Ministry “Ways of God”
So there I was, asking the question: what now? And more specifically… what do I call this ministry?
I registered the website as globalgospelfellowship.net, a name chosen by T.L. Osborn and Bishop Reid for a network of ministers led by Bishop Reid — a network I had joined and one he wanted to continue.
But something wasn’t settled. It felt like the name hadn’t fully caught up with what God was saying.
And then it came.
Ways of God.
Simple. Direct. No fanfare.
And instantly, everything made sense.

That verse from years ago. Those years of learning under Bishop Michael Reid. The repeated phrase that kept showing up. The quiet inner confirmation. It all converged into one clear identity.
Because at the heart of it, this ministry is about exactly that — the Ways of God meaning, not just the acts we see, but understanding how He works, leads, shapes, and sometimes surprises us completely.
Why Understanding God’s Ways Matters in Christian Life
In my experience, not everyone comes to know the Ways of God. But when you do, you realise you’re not just looking at events anymore… you’re learning what is behind them. From that I can know what is of God and what is not.
And that changes everything.
