Benson Idahosa House London: Why I Had to Be at the COGM UK Conference

I recently attended the Church of God Mission International Diaspora Convention 2026, held July 17–19. It was an incredible experience!

Benson Idahosa House London: Why I Had to Be at the Church of God Mission UK Conference

I attended the Church of God Mission International (CGMI) Diaspora Convention 2026 from July 17 to July 19, 2026. The event took place at the newly opened Benson Idahosa House, located at 1c Highfield Road, Dartford, DA1 2JH.

And honestly, it was off the chain!

But there was one moment I didn't expect. When Pastor Obi asked me to say a few words, I suddenly became overwhelmed. And when I say overwhelmed, I don't mean I'd forgotten my notes. Something much deeper was happening.

Church of God Mission International UK: I Had to Be There

I'd planned to attend the conference, but the date crept up on me rather quickly (apparently calendars do that).

When I called Pastor Obi, I discovered registration was already full. But he told me I could still attend.

I said, "Even if it was full, I'd still have come. I'd just call four friends, make a hole in the roof and lower me down!"

I had to go.

And boy, was it worth it.

Benson Idahosa London: More Than Just a Conference

There are times when I know I'm in the right place at the right time because I become deeply caught up in the Spirit.

I've experienced visions and sensed God speaking very clearly to me. One of the things that often happens is that my eyes begin to water.

It happened repeatedly throughout the Church of God Mission International UK conference.

So when Pastor Obi asked me to say a few words, I told him to give my time to the preachers. They had something to say, after all.

But he insisted.

So I went up.

Archbishop Benson Idahosa and a Prophecy That Still Carries Weight

Within minutes, I said that simply being there was overwhelming.

Then it happened again.

My eyes began to water.

The congregation must have wondered what on earth was going on. But for me, Benson Idahosa House wasn't simply another conference venue.

Being there connected with a prophecy Archbishop Benson Idahosa gave at Peniel Pentecostal Church in Brentwood in 1996.

That prophecy has carried enormous weight in my ministry.

If you've read my biography of Bishop Michael Reid, I'm Alive, you'll understand why. There are things in your life that only make sense when you look backwards and realise God was putting pieces together long before you knew what He was doing.

The Bishop Michael Reid and Benson Idahosa Ministry UK Legacy

I didn't attend the Church of God Mission UK conference simply because I had nowhere else to be that day.

I believe God has eternal purposes, spiritual assignments and divine instructions for our lives.

Ephesians 2:10 says:

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

That changes how you look at your journey.

Sometimes we think we're making random decisions.

God may see something very different.

The Bishop Michael Reid Story Isn't Over

People thought the ministry of Bishop Michael Reid was finished.

They looked at what they could see and assumed they knew the story.

But God isn't particularly impressed by our predictions.

As Archbishop Benson Idahosa prophesied:

"The work will not diminish."

And standing at Benson Idahosa House London, surrounded by people connected with the legacy of Church of God Mission International, I was reminded of something I've learned the hard way:

God's plans don't collapse just because people think the story is over.

Sometimes what looks like the end is simply the moment before God turns the page.

And perhaps that's why I had to be there.
